Hello everyone:
During “validation” runs I have had customers asked me to pull 60 pieces to collect variable data out of my production runs independent on the amount of pieces that one of this daily runs can produce. The claim being that 60 or more will give me a 95% confidence level that any process information infered from the data will be true. For atribute data I been asked to pull a minimum of 300 units out of my lots, independent of the lot size.
Can someone out there explain if this is true? Your help is appreciatted

For attribute data you may refer to ANSI/ASQC Z1.4-1993 or ISO 2859 and for variable data to ISO 3951.
