I am searching for a video that was shown at Motorola during the initial Malcolm Baldridge Six Sigma training haydays circa 1986 (when I was a young engineer). The video was about Paradigms and I recall it having a significant effect on my way of thinking.  When I saw that video it was like a lightbulb went on in my head.  I would love to find that video – I can’t remember the title but it was about Paradigms and opening up one’s mind for change.  Does anyone remember this?

Massey tapes is sounding familiar.  I am having a difficult time remembering.  Is this available on-line/other to view?  This is for my own personal refresh (I was laid off and job searching currently)

The one I am familiar with was done by Joel Arthur Barker and titled the Business of Paradigms.  You should be able to find it easily by web search.

My hunch is that it was the Joel Barker video as well.  http://www.starthrower.com/joel_barker.htm
Motorola still shows this video in some of its coursework.  The revised version actually tells the Motorola / Nokia  analog to digital miscue so that may be of some additional interest to you.

Oh my gosh…Sticker shock!!!You can experience a couple paradigm shifts just by
looking at the cost to purchase or rent that 38 minute
DVD.I’ve seen it too, and it’s good. Not sure it’s THAT
    good, though.

Business of Paradigms by Joel Barker. When I joined Motorola, in 2003, I re-introduced it through six
sigma. Most of our audiences had not seen it. There are updated
    versions.

Paradigm is soooo 1980’s.Maybe we have found root cause at Motorola. If they are going back to the 80’s maybe Bob should come back as
well. That would make a bigger difference.

I was starting to feel really dated when the statement was made ‘Paradigm is soooo 80’s’… that is until I previewed The Business of Paradigms by Joel Arther Barker – thanks for the link.  It doesn’t matter what it’s called (Paradigm is as a good word as any)… that video is even better than I remembered (yes, that’s the one – thanks)… This still applies and always will apply in our business just because we are all humans.  If you haven’t viewed it or have but not in a while – it is work going to the starthrower link to do so and a great mindset refresh.  Sticker shock- YES! Wow $895 for the video is too steep for me – wish I could just download it for free or less cost.  It takes a special mindset to solve (and prevent) problems sometimes and I have what it takes!  Thanks everyone!  I feel recharged now in my job search.
btw – I’ll check out The Massey Tapes as well – thanks for that too

I ordered the Preview DVD (Joel Barker) for no charge as that was available.
    Covey?  Any relation to Stephen?
