    Hello all

At trying to implement lean practices, setup time as I understand is time
spent in preparing the machine, to adjust screws, to apply some pressure, some cleaning,
to fill up some liquids, etc.
Up to here is understood, setup times ¨= 10 minutes.
But in my case, after finishing productiion, on the machine some instruments have to be dismounted, loosening
some screws, to reset pressure values, to do some cleaning ,
and all of this is done in 15 minutes. this post activities are needed in the machine so that can be ready for the next
    production.
In this case, time spent in the starting and at finishing is the total setup time = 25 minutes?
Note:post activities after production can not be part of the initial setup of the next work order, because
they have to be done immediatelly after finishing production.

Any idea about how to manage this issue in Lean?

    Thanks

What do you think? Setup time is waiting, one of the classic wastes of lean, when the next step in production cannot be done until something else happens. This can be at the start of the process, between steps, or at the end if it delays the start of the next production cycle.
