    Hi everyone,
I just started with a Black Belt course and have a question…  Seems that the lessons are directed to manufacturing companies, however I am more related with service and to be honest I still don’t know how to fit Sigma for a service company.  Are they asking me to measure the waste based upon the usage of human resources,  time lost between calls or cases worked, etc?
Does any one have any idea where can I get some samples as to how to perform measuring for sixsigma project within a service company.
    Warm regards,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
Good evening and don’t dispare, I am a Master Black Belt that has done over 100 project in the Services and/or Transactional processes. First kudos to you in your Black Belt journey and welcome to the isixsigma furum, there are lots of good people on here that will try to help you out as we chat each night. First let me respectfully encourage you to look for ways to transition the manufacturing examples into service or tranactional environments, as you become more confident with the consepts and tools, this will become easier. I suggest reading the Book “Lean Six Sigma for Services” by Mike George ISBN 0071418210. Also check out Six Sigma Advantage while papers may located under the Software / IT industry Channels section on isixsigma on he ledt hand section of the screen. Search for call center or help desk case studies with six sigma – there are a ton. Of course if you need more assistance, ask your instructor and/or coach more examples.
    Hope that helps,
