Alex – the question is “What is the pre-eminent methodology to achieve breakthrough performance?”

It is of course the Juran/Shanian breakthrough process or just common sense. DMAIC isn’t too bad either for those that need more of an outline to follow.

@MBBinWI and @twhitney99 and @KatieBarry It seems to be much easier when they supply the answer (except of course for Tom who only seems to get 1/2 credit). Seems a lot like that old Johnny Carson thing.

It seems this stream of comments is kinda “lean”. Where is Darth and the others…..?

Mike, thanks for giving me credit for being half right. But the real and complete answer comes from the wisdom of “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” The number 42!

@cseider and @darth and @Stevo and @twhitney99 and @stanmikel and @MBBinWI and @katiebarry Not everybody shows up as regularly as they used to. I certainly don’t but I am not sitting on the other side of the world with little to do in the evening because someone is watching CNN loop over and over. Besides Darth is old so multitasking is difficult for him. He has a day job so that about takes care of him. Stevo just moved so he is probably unpacking all the boxes Mrs. Stevo is telling him to unpack.

We do have Whitney who can be interesting when he isn’t to cranky. He may be older than Darth.

Heebee just disappeared on us. Miss his sense of humor.

Stan jumps in every now and kicks someone but then he is pretty busy.

MBBinWI has turned into a pretty major player. We will see what happens if the second half of 2012 is busy.

Gary Cone is delivering more than he used to so that helps fill a void. It was really good to see he did the video without makeup.

Joel is jumping in and doing the serious stats stuff with Robert Butler so the people needing professional help have 2 resources. Get it – professional help?

Of course in the middle of all of this Katie has to make sure we all play nice. Doing a good job on the DF. Not real sure what we are going to have to do to get a little license to tell the article guys when they wrote something useless:) I know you are going to have to edit this one too.

    Just my opinion.

    It was CNBC! :)

Those were the days…I miss my aqua blue walled bedroom and some of those lovely ladies including Sanet and Nelsa.

@Mike-Carnell I don’t see a thing to edit! You’ll have to try harder next time.

@KatieBarry This really mixed emotion. As much as it may not look like it at times I try to stay within the guidelines. The other side is the challenge about trying harder:)

@cseider Who can tell the difference. After it has looped 3-4 times it just becomes one very long beating. I agree. I miss South Africa very much.

@twhitney99 The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy? There is something that will date you in a hurry. I am not sure the younger group these days even knows what hitchhiking is. How about The Zen of Motorcycle Maintenance. There was something about the peaks of mountains being a shallow goal because the sides sustain life. Oh well “If you can remember the 60’s you didn’t live the 60’s.”

    Just my opinion.

@Mike-Carnell You’re right CNN / CNBC who can tell the difference? The only one that is different is Fox and they are Rush with makeup.

They are getting PC however. they took down their posting on Obama declaring war on marriage. Rush is by himself.

@stanmikel Do you remember a movie called “Broadcast News?” Hollie Hunter was on her crusade against news reporters who make the news stories about them. That seems to be common practice these days. I gave up on television and radio news and reading news papers. The whole thing seems very voyeuristic. Staring at people who have no real expertise beyond telling us about what other people are doing and we can’t do anything about them anyhow. Time seems better spent elsewhere.

No clue about the war on marriage. With the current divorce rate we seem to have made that decaration on our own.

    Just my opinion

@Mike-Carnell – hey, leave my buddy Tom alone. Anyone who actually read the guide is AOK in my book.

    Have missed HeeBee.

From the looks of things, Fake Mike better hope that central Illinois is tornado free for the next couple weeks or the whole forum poster listing might be wiped out.

@mike-carnell Hi Mike!! You are right. Day job is keeping me really busy and travel is back to crazy. Darth Jr. and family will be moving to TX in a couple of weeks. Will definitely miss the little ones. Casa de Darth has been sold and condo life on the water is feeling pretty good. Let’s chat live next week and catch up. Happy Mother’s Day to all out there to whom this holiday applies.

@Darth – some have called me a mother ……, so I’m going to take that as applying to me as well!

Good to see you back, even if for just a short post.
