Ignore the sceptics, Six Sigma does work if done properly following a team based DMAIC approach.
First steps – define the problem, identify the team, validate the measurement system and then establish baseline process capability (DPMO or Cpk). This will allow you evaluate the impact a future process changes.
Have fun!0January 28, 2007 at 5:11 pm #151177The following is a pretty self-explanatory and quite readable, recent introduction into six sigma: Greg Brue and Rod Howes. Six Sigma. The McGraw-Hill 36-Hour Course. 2006. It has nothing on lean, but as a first step, I think it’s quite all right.
