A straightforward approach would be to identify the processes your department performs routinely, but which are not functioning as well as you’d like. That gives you the chance to practice the tools, and any improvements you make will help you build credibility.
If your overall organization has some maturity relative to six sigma, you might provide expert feedback on processes you see that aren’t working.
