    Hi All
My company has White Belts, Yellow Belts and then LEAN training.  All of these 3 are on line training.
The next level is Green belt.  However, before Green Belt I am trying to put a new level is for those who do a small improvement – they will be the future GB’s.
I thought of the word “Champion” but management does not want any reference to six sigma or belts etc..they want something “Generic”
I am struggling with a CATCHY WORD
    Suggestions?

Julia, you want a serious answer then pose a more viable question.
You say your firm does not want reference to Six Sigma yet you already have White & Yellow Belts…makes no sense.
Your second sentence…well, it isn’t really a sentence. However it seems you want something between a GB and a BB….and you suggest calling them Champions…wierd.
You want names other than Six Sigma traditional names and you want to create some non-traditional roles….What do you expect from us? Call them whatever you want…who cares.

I Was thinking the same thing as Brandon. How on earth can a company that has already laid the foundation for Six Sigma, suddenly want guys that do “Small” improvements to not be associated with Six Sigma. That just stupid and management should be shot.

Concerned, I don’t see or feel anger from my post that you referenced. Ambivalance would be a better word. Very little of her post makes sense…then she gets pissy with us. I’m not angry; this string means nothing to me….can’t get angry about that.

Julia, I’m afraid that if you’re worried about catchy words to sell what you’re doing, you have to question what you’re trying to do.
These guys are right – the name is irrelevant. With the current level of management commitment and understanding (sounds like they don’t have either) your belts, whatever they are called, are pretty much set up to fail either way.
I suggest you do some root cause analysis on why management feels the way it does about continuous improvement, and see what can be done there.
I am in favor of not using Lean and/or Six Sigma speak when talking about improvement. The lingo gets in the way.

    Julia,

Unlike my esteemed colleagues, I am all about creating solutions regardless of the situation.  My brain is so large that it takes a while for it to hit cruising speed, so bear with me.

Agreed, Stevo.  For example, here’s the $ data from the movie “Octopussy”.  No doubt, with such a large ROI, one would have to call it a huge success.

OK, let’s give Stevo a hand:
PIMP – Process Improvement Management Professional
    BUG – Better Utilization Guru
PEST – Process Excellence Senior Trainer
    More later…got work to do.
