Six Sigma Black Belt Assignment as Career Dev.

I have noted instances where a number of companies use Six Sigma Black Belt assignments as training grounds for their high potential employees. I am interested in learning:
(i) how black belt nominations are obtained,
(ii) the black belt selection criteria used, and
(iii) how “success” is measured regarding black belt tenure before reployment.
Also, I’d like some thoughts on whether you think these development efforts are generally considered successful by companies?0
