If it should be a six sigma coordinator, manager, master black belt or MR as in ISO management systems, or else. If some one please guide, how is it being practiced in your organizations?0August 28, 2003 at 8:05 am #89315In Caterpillar, we call such 6Sigma Deployment Champion…

We have Six Sigma Coordinators at each of our manufacturing locations to track the progress of the local projects.
My boss is the VP for Innovation and Technology and he is our official Six Sigma Deployment Champion. He summarizes the progress I make and shares it with our corporate leadership.0August 28, 2003 at 2:48 pm #89333

0August 28, 2003 at 3:10 pm #89335The answer is “IT DEPENDS”.
It depends upon the size of the organization and level of the organization. For example, if Six Sigma is deployed in a large organization with multiple sites. If a person is repsonsible for the whole organization then “Six Sigma Director or something similar to that”. Where as at every site you may want to call the persons as Six Sigma Coordinator/Six Sigma Program Manager.0September 10, 2003 at 3:21 pm #89726

Director, Business Process, etc…
There are many alternatives for the title but, the key point to remember is that this position should be a high enough level within the organization to:
1) Communicate importance of the initiative
2) Enable the effectiveness of the position. A high level position is usually allowed to participate in high level meetings critical to the alignment of Six Sigma with organizational objectives.0 -
