Saleh, Six Sigma has started catching on in some developing countries such as India. As a matter of fact we are launching a brand new site today. Its called http://www.treqna.com – we are trying to make the documentation and knowledgeware around six sigma free and thus make it easier for everyone to adopt. Visit our site to download and discuss Six Sigma.PS: Its brand new – so help get others to the site.Treqna – The Open Six Sigma standard.

Since Six Sigma tries to reduce variation & eliminate waste, then I see its application in countries like Pakistan as being very important in terms of conserving precious resources which are need by its people.

It depends  on the promotion and  dessimenation of the  concept. It should  be first  presented  as  an  advanced practical Approch of TQM with special efforts to simplify and  adapt  it  locally.Trying to aviod the  repeated “phrase” SS (as  a  buzz word).Just my opinion.

    Saleh,
Why would you believe SS would be any different in Pakistan?
Here is a good strategy. Wait until it develops industries with wasteful inefficient process and has to lay people off then implement something like SS to save it. Lets see Pakistan has the technology to develop a neuclear bomb. Jus maybe the money is being spent in the wrong places?
    Just my opinion.

    Saleh,
I believe that country like Pakistan needs very badly  the application of Lean Six Sigma in Army Logistics, Raliways, Airlines, Textile, Oil & Gas etc.
Please let me know if I any one need help in deployment of LSS in Pakistan.
    Regards,
    M. Afzal
