    Hello Cyber world,
Found this link while looking for interesting Six Sigma MSN Groups:
    http://groups.msn.com/SixSigmaProblemsAndSolutions/home.htm
    Here is just a sample:
This site provides information on THE REAL SIX SIGMA: It is a New Look at Six Sigma, Its Agenda, and its Unnecessary War on Business.
In our feature article “Defect Methodologies Hamper Industry” we show how and why Motorola’s Six Sigma and Andersen’s Method/1 are destroying both innovation and the division of labor at GE, and a host of blue chip companies.
For interesting reading… click on the above link.
    Cheers,

Very interesting set of articles.  Unfortunately, despite the ramblings, I never saw any facts to support their positions.  Lots of personal opinions and generic dogma but nothing in the way of details.  And, of course, they have developed a great alternative which they will be glad to sell to you.  If someone who has more detailed knowledge of their approach can share with the Forum, I think it can generate some interesting threads.

    Plastic,
Interesting opinion about six sigma. The website seems like a good forum for like minded people to share their ignorance.

Very interesting, although there are no real facts behind the main page & once i saw the word ‘pyramid’ i thought “close”
    i particularly liked the passage “threats, intimidation & fear do not motivate employees” come on, own up – who has been chastising people to;
    A) be part of a project team
    B) try & strengthen their postion in the market by using 6s methodology
i had to stop reading as the bolshy rhetoric was putting me to sleep.

The first article was Copyright 2001.  I guess 4 years later we can see the wisdom of their program through the fact that so many people can recognize the name of the philosophy…. what was that name again? PINK? POOP? PEEP?

    Barry “nuke the Vietnamese” Goldwater?
Free of unregimented thinking? I guess destroying the world is unregimented thinking. the problem is you only get to do it once.
BTW – I agree with much of what is said.

    Hmmm…interesting.

Brain Drain! Innovative people leaving a company is the cause of a company’s decline. So what could possibly be the cause of innovative people leaving? Red tape and bureaucracy are real good reasons for a brain drain. And Six Sigma supplies both in copious quantities. The latest Six Sigma bibles, “Implementing Six Sigma: Smarter Solutions Using Statistical Methods”, and “Strategic Six Sigma” are no exceptions.Browse the articles on this site for the details.
Warning! If your company dabbles with Six Sigma, you had better learn how to read your company’s balance sheet and annual report. You may be in for a career change whether you like it or not. (Have you noticed how many of the big bankruptcies are Six Sigma companies?)
Companies that have embraced Six Sigma are falling into bankruptcy like dominos. (Xerox, Kodak, Polaroid, Kmart, Motorola’s Iridium, Ford, Enron…). Can GE, the world’s wealthiest company, be immune? Browse the list of Six Sigma’s Problem Companies A-X.
    Sincerely,Anthony Shelley and Dennis Wilson.
