    Faber,
There was an Allied turbo charger plant locatted in Attessa (probably spelled incorrectly – on the east coast approx due west of Rome) that had the beginnings of a good program started in the 96 time frame.
There were another 4 braking plants that belonged to Allied along the west coast. Since the braking stuff got sold to Bosch I am not sure where that went.
The Magneti Morrelli (spelling again) in Povia, Italy got some attention in the early 90’s with a technology/manufacturing swap with the Motorola plant in Angers, France. They had good staff in Angers and Carl Werwrath (Spelling again) from Motorola spent a lot of time in both facilities. Probably the purest spin off since it (SS) had not been comercialized yet – they probably do not even recognize it as SS – just how they do the job. Carl was just a real solid manufacturing guy. Last I heard he was in China.
That is about all I am aware of.
    Good Luck.

    Faber,
Try looking at Comau Pico/ Fiat, Federal Express, GE Capital, Magna, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.  They all have operations of one sort or another in Italy.
    Regards,
    Chris

I’m not sure exactly, but I think the company that developed the Leaning Tower of Pisa was involved from the start.

Attessa is due east (not west as I stated in the first post) of Rome.
The Povia plant is outside Milan.

    Hi Ricardo,
I am a Six Sigma black belt and I do speak Italian. I would like to ask you a favor. I need to familiarize “in a hurry”  with Six Sigma vocabulary in Italian. Please point me out to a web site or e-mail me some articles which deal with Six Sigma in Italian.
I would appreciate it very much. Thank you. Victor

I was a BB in 2000, now MBB working @ GE. I would suggest to benchmark GE locations in italy, europe (main sites in Milan, Florence and Rome).I think GE is one of the best example of companies that have been successful in implementing Six Sigma
I am not aware of any italian companies…that have been successful in implementing Six Sigma (someone wrote FIAT, COMAU..they just started the Six Sigma journey…)
