I am an on-line student who resides in Montana. I am currently in the process of developing a Six Sigma project to complete my bachelor’s degree. My project involves using Six Sigma in the public sector. I’ve searched the Internet for Six Sigma in Montana and have not been able to find any links to local companies that utilize Six Sigma. I would like to get in contact with a Six Sigma specialist (of any belt) locally. It is my hope that someone may know of someone whom I can be in contact with. Thanks for your time and attention.

0August 31, 2006 at 10:32 am #142560Why not consider contacting the Governor’s Office. He sounds like a really ‘switched on’ person – a rare find in these days of ‘memory’ educated pop-outs.
As you probably heard he’s working on a number of projects one of which is realy important – the coal to fuel technology.
Good Luck!

Often if you offer to help them they may allow you to do it. Lots of government applications including local city or county. Local universities might be another opportunity.

I’m afraid I’m a bit biased and believe that the entire state of MT is beautiful, but I do live about smack dab in the middle of the state in Great Falls. Thank you all for the advice. This is a wonderful forum!

That is classy response. It shows character and a strong backbone!
If you want to contact me on my private e-mail. I may be able to help you but I can’t promise it. I have a few friends who work in the public sector, maybe through the network we can find a match for you in Montana. Regards. [email protected]0September 1, 2006 at 4:16 pm #142659I agree. I was born in Great Falls and raised in Kalispell.
Stevo0September 1, 2006 at 5:40 pm #142663You could try a local non-profit organization. When I was looking for a sponsoring organization, an industry professional suggested I try volunteering my services to non-profit if my own business could not provide meaningful projects.

You may want to contact one of the Caterpillar dealers in the state since CAT requires their dealers to embed 6 Sigma into their organizations. In your area there is Tractors and Equipment Company (Idaho, North Dakota and Montana), Western States Equipment Company (Washington, Idaho and Montana), Butler Machinery (North and South Dakota) and Wyoming Machinery (Wyoming, obviously). You will want to contact their corporate offices, not a branch location, and ask for the 6 Sigma Deployment Champion of Master Black Belt (they are usually the same person) and they should be able to help you out.0 -
