    Am looking at incorporating Six Sigma tools in Internal Audit process. I would greatly appreciate if somebody can share me some examples. Thanks!

    dear are you asking about qms internal audit ?
    if yes then you can only follow the iso standards.

    Hi,
    Six Sigma is a Process Improvement Methodology using standard tools. Yes ISO would be an excellent tool for Internal Audits for General categories and COPC would be for Service Industries.

    Thanks for your reply, Ahsan.
    Let me elaborate further. The internal audit division that i am working with is dealing with IT control. We are a telco company. Basically, what our internal auditor do is to perform an audit on the IT system(which the company has had a heavy investment) to check if the system has performed to it’s expectation. The major deliverables of the audit report are Risk Assessment, Findings and Recommendations. 
    In the midst of cultivating the Six Sigma culture, i am trying to see if any Six Sigma tools can fit into the report. 
    I am not familiar with qms internal audit, :).

    YL,
    I assume that you purchased this new IT system to acomplish a goal. To make some good number(s) go up and some bad number(s) go down. Why not merely compare the before and after CTQs?

    dear you can make procedure of qms auditing as
    D:Define— defining the scop of audit
    M: Measure—-list the things you have to measure, collect the data
    A:Analyse…. Put data on you table and conduct datat analysis, prepare pareto charts,fishbone,np,p charts according to your collected data
    I: Improve— on basis of data anlysis benchmark the quality standard. Develop the strategies to go divert your process to creat quality at source.
    C:Control— control on things which you have done for improvements and actions taken

    I share the same line of thought with you on performing the audit according to DMAIC framework, but unfortunately the Improve phase do not OWN by audit department but by the operation team or business unit, hence auditor can’t lead a Six Sigma project. They can only investigate and highlight the finding or make recommendation. The audit dept do not OWN the process, too. Therefore, i can only recommend the usage of Six Sigma tools, without impacting their normal auditing practice.
    Do you have an example of Six Sigma tool in a audit report?

    Comparing before and after CTQ is a good idea…guess i would need to gather some benchmarking information too.
