I do not understand your response.  I am an employer looking to verify a potential new employee’s Six Sigma certification.  Is there a site or a number I can to verify this?

Wally:Sorry, there is no central agency or site to do this.Step 1: Contact the consulting firm that issued the certificate or HR of the company if they did the same (GE, BofA, etc.).Another thing to do is to ask for contact information for the MBB responsible for the BB.This will probably result in a yes/no response.Step 2:Ask the BB questions about the projects they claim to have done – you should find out a huge amount about the practical skills the BB should have acquired that are not confirmed by the certification.Cheers, BTDT

Ask to see the receipt from where he bought it  … OR …
Ask what brand of breakfast cereal he found it in.

Gee, I think this says it all.  Certainly not an objective, third party venture is it?  Looks like another self serving scam by everyone’s favorite snake oil salesman.
The SSGR arose from the pervasive industry need to create a world-class archive of authenticated Six Sigma practitioners. In this manner, students and practitioners alike are able to share a recognized and respected process of personal validation and accreditation. The SSGR is fully endorsed and sponsored by the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering, Arizona State University and Dr. Mikel J. Harry, one of the principle architects of Six Sigma and the field’s foremost expert.

Things like ASQ certification and SixSigmaRegistry are a joke.
The advice about asking who trained, who certified is good advice.

Why are they a joke? Can you list some valid facts? Or is everything subjective to you?

    Reigle,
Why are they not a joke? Can you list some valid facts? Or is everything subjective to you?

This must be one of those comments:
DARTH: “Granted, the rest are heresay and less value should be put on those comments.”
You’re right, everyone should put less value on your comments, especially the ones where you bash others.

While you’re taking valuable time and energy to criticize and bash others, please make sure to tell me about all the wonderful things, major developments, and great works that you’ve brought to life and the market place. Otherwise, it’s all white noise.

    Vinny Imposter Alert!

The current poster using the ID “Vinny” is not the “Vinny” of past.   I know this because I was the Vinny of past and I am very certain that I did not post this recent tripe.    As more than adequate demonstration of this the current poster has been able to post repeatedly without once working in reference to his advanced degrees and rigorous academic programs.   And while this might be a refreshing change for some, it is sufficient demonstration to others, I rest my case.

You’re correct in saying that you’re past history and now you’re just a number!

Thank you.  I didn’t want my past inane postings confused with your current inane postings.   Mine interspersed humor with informational content and, so far anyway, yours are simply sarcastic and seemingly not well thought out.

    Vinnies,
It is sad to see that there has been a complete breakdown and that you have decomposed into two separate and distinct personalities.  I believe it is due to the excessive chemical experimentation at old Rigorous U.  That peyote will wreck havoc with your brain.  Personally, I liked the witty, long-winded, rambling but obviously intelligent contributor of the past.with his tie-dyed t shirts and cranial adornments.  When you have a lucid moment please contact Dr. Barry of the Bench by the Bay ASAP and get some help.  He may still be staying at his mansion in Lake Tahoe but try anyway.  I look forward to your speedy recovery and return to the Forum.  As for the evil Vinny, please create a new moniker and not tarnish the beloved Vinny of past posts.

Just a point to ponder…Many Companies will only verify employment dates, if asked about a particular person…disclosure of anything else can and has led to law suits.

HeBe:Very true, but I would make the case that a past employeee is purporting a certification awarded by the company through HR. You can’t give someone certification without the capability to confirm it.The certificate would probably be sufficient for me. Then I could grill them about projects without the need for external verification.Cheers, BTDT

    Evil Vinnie,
I agree with Darth. Try a different moniker – like Reigle.
