    What is “Commerce”? Isn’t commerce the same as “service” or “transactional quality”? If so, there is plenty on the web (and this site) about transactional quality.

    Anybody can define “quality concept'” in every-day commercial trading?? What is the use of Six-Sigma concept if all those working in daily commercial trading don’t understand this concept,in many cases I have observed one concept is dominating in this field,it is “profit/profit & profit”.could you guide me to any research or articles in this regard.thanks        MN

    I wonder as you are wondering?people speak about application of  SixSigma every where ,even in space,but they forget the basic business,they thought it is common sence ,but it is not,that explains the death  of hundreds of commercial trades every day,may be quality was not their concern (not to mention the SS),they thought only about Profit first & last,I have read several quality & SS books,almost very few authors talked about that,again I wonder why??

    Sorry ,but you are wasting our times by raising such question??It is common sense,luck,committment,budget,business approach…etc,It has nothing to do with quality or your Six Sigma,Please stop talking about SS in every subject,it is becoming very boring,may be a clever “consultants”game  or fad,to make a lot of money,..regards

    MN,
    I am not sure why you believe the application is any different in a small business than it was in a large business. You start with the CTQ’s and work backwards in to the work you do that satisfies them.
    As far as telling someone to guide you you are waiting. A little arrogant. Just remember they can leave you waiting but you are the one that has to put the presentation together. Not exactly a great strategy when you are asking for help.
    In a lot of these types of posts you don’t get much response because it doesn’t look like you have put much effort of your own into figuring it out.
    Good luck.

    Rammoz,
    The guy is obviously not a consultant so how did you extrapolate it to a consultants game?
    If you are bored – stop reading it.

    In one of his strips, Scott Adams addressed this by putting Dogbert in the shoes of a Six Sigma expert.  it is rrather simplistic, but it does answer you question.
    ===============================================
    Dogbert: The first step is to identify your problems
    Pointy Hair Boss: We don’t have any problems.  What’s the second step?
    Pointy Hair Boss: (to himself) I hop someone gives be a ‘belt!
    ============================================
    See Mikes answer regarding CTQ’s, and figure out what are the VOC, VOB, VOE, and subsequent VOP’s, and you can apply the Continuous Improvement methodology of Six Sigma in virtually any enviornment, including space exploration.
    It all boils down to Y=f(x).

    Since the address to this site is http://www.iSixSigma.com (note the Six Sigma part of the www address), it would seem appropriate to discuss the application of Six Sigma in a variety of scenarios.
    This is akin complaining about the http://www.ebay.com website only being interested in auctions.  :-)
    But seriously, if your bored, try http://www.unitedmedia.com/comics/dilbert/, but be forwarned it only focuses on Dilbert comics, and Scott Adams’ take on business.  I suppose that could get “boring” after a while, as well.  I would not complain to them, however, they would just ask you to surf & post elsewhere.
    Have a nice weekend!

    Thank you,I really admire your potential ability to respond quickly to all types of questions & answers,as Bill Smith”is tha father of Six Sigma,I’m considering you honestly as the father of this site,please accept it as complement.Regarding MN question,I think the answer can be summerized in few sentences,as any business has four key goals:To satisfy its customers,To achieve higher customer satisfaction than its competitors,To retain customers in the long run,To gain market share.What is your opinion?thanks & regards.     Ramooz

    Ramooz,
    Thank you for the compliment. I do the discussion group because it is fun. There is a team called iSixSigma Communitty that makes this happen on a 24/7 basis. They really get the credit for making this happen.
    Good luck.
