No more interrelationship than is inherently connected to any other entity.   Dr. de Bono as he was postulating the benefits of lateral thinking didn’t necessarily have in mind a statistically-based management paradigm years before it’s inception.

What do you think about it?    Is there a connection?    Are you a lateral or multi-hat thinker?   You frequently offer up enticing tidbits to ponder, but rarely offer an opinion or take a stand.   Where do you fall regarding your question?   I just answered “No”.   Do you agree?    If so, why?    If not, why?  This will be fun.

Thank You .Yes I believe  a  connection  may  exist ( concept-wise).He has established  his  theory  on  the “triangle”,which was made up of  Six equal circles (like the  SS which is equal  to 3.4 DPMO _statisical -wise ),both  utilize the  figure  6 (hexagonal),here in this  concept each  of  the  six  circles represents one  of  the  six value  medals:Silver-Steel Gold- Brass -Wood -Glass.This  value  scan provides a powerful basis for solving  problems  and  for  project  evaluation (some-how  similar  to  the  Six-Sigma concept). Please  be  patient and  try to  tolerate  my  idea as  it  might  be  “wrong”,best  wishes.

Fascinating logic.   So, following your figure 6 (hexagonal) linkage theorem, Motel 6, KVIE Public Television Channel 6, July 6, and Internet Explorer 6, are all somehow inextricably intertwined?
But then what of the “5 Why’s”?   Unless of course it’s really a 6….   Are you suggesting that it was really 5 Why’s and a Whatever and the Whatever got lost in translation or mistakenly dropped off?   You might be on to something here.

    New-VGB,

Whoa man, you’re blowin’ my mind… Circles into triangles into hexagons? Wow, I can’t navigate that thought man, without some serious Mary Jane and a heavy G chord…

But now if 6 medals turned out to be 9 medals …. I don’t mind, I don’t mind.

Phlueeze 6 (or so) medals give the poster his/her due – It is blindingly obvious that Six Value Medals is three times as important as Six Sigma.
Consider – both start with 6 so if we subtract off that quantity we have
    Sigma
    and
    Value Medals
    left.
Now – Medals has 6 letters so we put that aside for a moment.
If we sum the letter values for the words “value” and “sigma” where a=1, b=2 etc.
we find that Value = 61 and sigma = 49 and the difference between them is 12. If we add the additional 6 from the letter count of the word “medals” we get 18 and 18 is three times 6. Q.E.D.
    (Q.E.D. = Quite Enough Drivel)

So, this is the next evolution for de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats?  Seems like this may be the 7th Thinking Hat: the plaid hat of confusion.

And don’t forget the mark of the beast – 666. Of course there is some debate recently that the mark is actually 626 which means this also involves Mazda.
Save yourselves – go for 3 sigma – no devil involved and it is also easier to achieve.

Add this on a serious note. We remeber in 7+/-2, did de bono have a genius for understanding up and down chunking in relation to memory, and can you prove this statistically ;o)
