    Joseph,
I’m sure you’ll see several responses suggesting different books, but here’s what I did to find the best book for me.  Search Amazon.com, or any other online bookseller, and read the reviews of people who have read the book.  It takes some time, but you will find you can find exactly what you’re looking for by putting a little effort into a search.  It took me several hours over 3 or 4 days, but I finally found a book that met my needs.
    Good luck.

    Joseph,
For the basics, I like The Cartoon Guide to Statistics by Larry Gonick and Woollcott Smith….
    Best Regards,
