    I need some help analyzing an attribute measurement system survey.  Our quality control manager brought me the results of a survey that our customers completed for him and wanted to me to help make sense of the information gained.  I have little to no experience dealing with a survey of this type.  The survey question basically was this:
    Rank the following possible causes of  XXXX defects from 1(most common) to 5(least common). 
    The results were as follows:

    well, for me, maybe you can do a chi-sqare test or an attribute gage r&r.

    I just finished analyzing a similar survey.  I would use chi-square or t-tests to compare ghroups if the data do not violate the assumptions associated with using these tests.  Some of the other non-parametric tests could be used as well.  I was unable to use these tests and instead used factor analysis, cluster analysis, correlation tables & mosaic plots.
