Anybody can tell me why many companies are not interested to apply the a.m.TQ tools(Taguchi loss function,Q uality function deploment,Poka-Yoka (an approach to fail-safing),and even the trivial Deming Cycle)??As most companies complain about high cost, customer satisfaction, quality improvements……etc,in the meanwhile they don’t bother such Q.tools, they prefer to rely on “Exhortions”….I suggest to re-fucus on these terms along with the six-sigma concept, any contribution in that regard ,please.            MN

All the tools you mentioned, Taguchi, QFD, poka-yoke are included in Six Sigma in a nice sequene.
They bring more power when they are fitted together in the right sequence.
Some company do not use these tools or utilize them as it should be because these tools are not be aware of or not used in a proper maner or not fitted wiht other tools.
For PDSA, it has been modified into DMAIC already.
I prefer DMAIC and so as many Six Sigma experts, I think.

    Muhanned,
DMAIC is the core of the Six Sigma problem solving approach and represents five distinct phases.  They are (in order):
    Define
    Measure
    Analyze
    Improve
    Control
If you click on “Tollgate Reviews” in the left column, you’ll get a drilled down explanation for each step.
    Hope this helps.
