My green belts are mixing up between high level tasks and low level tasks. Some important high level tasks are not being shown in the high level process map. While some low level tasks are getting featured as high level. The map is often ending up having a great many number of unimportant steps while some key steps are to be found only by drilling down. What’s the best way to teach them to do it corectly.

There really isn’t a hard and fast rule. The key is that the team/person should understand what is being done. Basic thing I have learned, when describing process in high-level detail, is that if it takes more than 5 minutes to describe it, you are too complicated.
I may not have been much help, but it really depends on your process as to the level of detail you desire.0 -
