The key to achieving perfection in the workplace begins with happy employees.  If employees are treated unfairly, discriminated against, and lied to, six sigma  is not an achievable concept.   I know because I work for a hospital that is full of green belts and black belts spinning their wheels.  If the adminstration staff  would look at the facility employee “engagement” survey, and instead of  making excuses for the low scores they see (excuses I might add that are based on the directors and supervisors input), and  for once, JUST ONCE, address the REAL problem.  The real problem being poor leadership.  Directors and supervisors who have no business overseeing employees.   Directors and supervisors who lie to cover up their mistakes and who treat employees based on their personal likes and dislikes.   Directors and supervisors who put on a good front so that outwardly they shine, but underneath, they are like rotten.

Stop whining!!  It is not the job of an organization to make employees happy.  If it was, then people could choose their own work hours, not work too hard when they do show, get paid the big bucks, have Happy Hour every hour, etc.  It is the function, however, of an organization to provide functioning processes, adequate leadership, meaningful work, job satisfaction, etc.  Big difference than Happy.

Unhappy employees often coexist with an effective Six Sigma program; on the other hand, poor leaders rarely do. I think this gets us closer to the root cause.
Your administration needs to hold its leaders accountable for their performance and the results of Six Sigma — not for the sake of the disgruntled masses, but for the sake of the customers and the business.

I would rather use the term satisfied employee instead of happy. First you have to like the place you work to be happy. If employees are treated fairly and trust worthy there should be harmony in a work place. So big companies as much as you  have to concentrate on how much money an individual makes, lets appreciate that individual’s  contribution to the work place ,and how much capabilities that person has to offer to your organisation.Let’s  implement a six sigma program which would measure valued employees and being able to retain these employees
