0December 8, 2008 at 2:23 am #178434I think the state six sigma is in is Texas.
0December 8, 2008 at 10:36 am #178437Six Sigma has reached maturity.
0December 8, 2008 at 1:23 pm #178440Folks: [deleted promotion] With that said, we always evaluate the company’s LSS maturity, relative to the Team’s life cycle, not the tools they utilize. We would say…YES, SS has matured in terms of the tools BUT, the average LEan/SS Team, as an entity, is in its infancy, averaging less than FIVE years old. Enjoy! Greg
0December 8, 2008 at 2:20 pm #178443Greg,What does your telling us about the fluff that SherTrack sells have
to do with the maturity of Six Sigma?0December 8, 2008 at 2:29 pm #178444Just attempting to supply insight to the community in terms of maturity of the LSS Teams within corporations as opposed to the tools available…..they are two different threads.
Thought it might add some insight to the original question.
0December 8, 2008 at 3:16 pm #178446You thought advertising your firm might be some insight?
0December 8, 2008 at 3:54 pm #178448Obviuosly mentioning what we do in terms of leveraging SS technology in terms of maturity didn’t sit well with you, Stan.
As a LSS pratictioner, Univ faculty member, big 4 consultant, TOC Jonah…I attempt to “Give back” insights to SS community and others..with no expectations.
Stan, as a regular contributor to this forum, I’ll certainly do my best to keep it purely intellectual……..0December 8, 2008 at 3:59 pm #178449

0December 8, 2008 at 4:28 pm #178451What’s the exam paper or is this course home work?
0December 8, 2008 at 4:38 pm #178453Your making an assumption about experience and length of time in role. I’ve seen a company with 30 years experience in one small department the only problem being it was the same six months experience repeated over and over again.
Back to the original question with the number of methods and possible routes through and as we should always be looking for a better way to do something shouldn’t Six Sigma always be fluid.
0December 8, 2008 at 5:01 pm #178454Greg,
Your original post was nothing but self promotion. And round worded fluff at that. Your company offers software that uses SPC concepts applied to customer demand. Whoopie. We were doing that 20 years ago. As for your list of credentials, Jonahs and former IBM consultants are a dime a dozen.
Don’t promote your fluff, contribute to the discussion.0December 9, 2008 at 4:12 pm #178479

“I think the state six sigma is in is Texas.” Nice answer. At least Greg let us know where he’s coming from (aka fluff), which gives his opinion some weight. Take your own advice Stan.0December 9, 2008 at 4:19 pm #178481Sorry Ken .. I disagree with you.Greg was guilty of self-promotion which is against the etiquette of this forum. What Greg doesn’t seem to realize is who would use a company too cheap to pay for their advertising? Do you think this forum is funded by social welfare? While Stan can be short sometimes, he contributes a huge amount – as any long term member of this forum will confirm. If Greg would like to promote his company he can do so freely by writing an article and subjecting it to a peer review. No offense!

Ken AdamsParticipant@Ken-AdamsInclude @Ken-Adams in your post and this person will

I’ve read countless posts by him over the years and he does weigh in with helpful information. But not on this thread. If Stan is going to call Greg out as not contributing, when he clearly did, someone should call Stan out on it too.
0December 9, 2008 at 4:51 pm #178486Ken,Sorry you did not understand the comment about Texas. How the state of Six Sigma is like the state of Texas -1) Neither is as big as they think they are.2) Both are filled with really brilliant people and really dumb people. And on the surface it is hard to tell which is which. 3) Both are in decline – just look at the duffus that is moving to Dallas in late January.4) Both are only powerful as part of a bigger system, they are not the system, even though the most jealous of both populations think they are.Greg was advertising, if he stops it I’ll let it alone. If he doesn’t I won’t.
0December 9, 2008 at 4:58 pm #178487Don’t make Texas mad, you won’t like Texas when it’s mad. Texas’ mother made Texas mad once… Once.

0December 9, 2008 at 5:29 pm #178489I have to go with Stan on this one…Greg’s posts were over-the-top advertising.
0December 9, 2008 at 5:32 pm #178491Etiquette…this forum….please!!
0December 9, 2008 at 5:37 pm #178492The “TOS” (Terms of Service), clearly bans unpaid-for adverts.

But when you take away the BS both can be a really nice place to live.
Just my opinion.0December 9, 2008 at 11:27 pm #178510Problem is – it’s nearly impossible to get the BS out of either of them!
0December 10, 2008 at 2:04 am #178511Try and use some logic.
0December 10, 2008 at 3:17 am #178512Agreed.
0December 10, 2008 at 3:26 am #178513Please give us an example of your logic.
