Can anyone share a tool or technique used to rank Vendors.  We are scoring vendors after each presenation, but what is needed I believe is a way to compare vendors not independantly but against each other and to remove bias.  Something along the lines of AHP, but in this case it would be for 8-10 Vendors.

Are you just evaluating vendors for the joy of it, or are you comparing an application or service that can be provided by different vendors?
If the latter, I would do a functional decomp of the problem space, and rank the application/service against each of  the functions.  That helps reduce the impact of frills that might not be of real value.
If the former, then you will need to come up with some sort of “goodness” measures, which can be very organization-dependent.

Look into the “Pugh Matrix”. It’s only as good as your ability to prioritize your requirements, but if you can do that well, the matrix is highly effective.

look into Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) – Expert Choice is one tool that supports this technique, but you can do it without tool support – if you want more info, contact me – [email protected]
    best regards,
