    Hello,
Why won’t Minitab except negative numbers (i.e. Net Negative Cash Flow) when performing a Box-cox Transformation?

    Thanks,

    Pat,
Because Box-Cox involves log transformations in its calculation. Natural log transformations can only be applied to positive numbers.
A question I have for you is: Why are you needing to use Box-Cox transformations?

Just add a constant to each value in your data
set. This is a linear transformation that forces
all of the data points to be positive … then do
    your transformation.Reigle the Beagle

Thanks for all of your responces, I appreciate it.   A fellow Black Belt and I were trying to figure this one out, and you helped tremedously.  The Anderson-Darling was too high so we needed to transform the data, but the negative net cash flow was throwing us off.
    thanks again,
    Pat and friend
