    Dear Phadnis,
Would like to know the TRIZ methodology you speak off. I would like to know the distinction implied in your message between DFSS and DMAIC since I have used them in continuum.
I would appreciate it if you could direct me to a text book dealing with TRIZ.
    Sincerely,

    Dear Ravi,
TRIZ is the short form for theory of inventive problem solving. The best book I have come across is Engineering of Creativity by Savransky. The web site http://www.triz-journal.com is also an excellent resource.I am sure once into triz you will get facscinated by it.TRIZ combined with Six Sigma makes your knowlege in the field of improvement untouchable.Any problem of any kind specially in the Engineering side looks very easy and sucess in improvement is practically gauranteed.

TRIZ is a Russian  acronym for “Theory of Inventive Problem Solving”.The inventor Genrich altshuller analyzed more than  200.000 patents and discovered that problems, solutions and  patterns of evolution were repeated across industries and sciences.Based on the empirical evidence of this  patent analysis.Altshuller built the theoritical superstructure TRIZ.Hope this helps,                     MN
