Hi,
I am trying to understand two general issues with respect to a class i took – is not “analysis” used in every phase of DMAIC?
and is there a direct relationship between correlation coefficent & customer sat – i believe both are yes but was not totally clear from my notes.

You asked: “I am trying to understand two general issues with respect to a class i took – is not “analysis” used in every phase of DMAIC? … and is there a direct relationship between correlation coefficent & customer sat – i believe both are yes but was not totally clear from my notes … “
Regarding your first question: Yes, analysis, as a skill, is used in each phase of DMAIC. The “A” is DMAIC stands for “analysis”, but don’t get too caught up in that. It is simply short-hand for “root-cause analysis”. More broadly, DMAIC and the five words that its stands for are simply short-hand, too, to help us remember the general sequence — nothing more.
Regarding your second question about the relationship between correlation coefficient and customer satisfaction — wow, not enough information here to say yes or no — it needs context. Could you expand on your question please? When you refer to “correlation coefficient”, what are the factors that are being correlated?
Best regards,
