I am preparing a final work for the Master Degree in Project Management, which is called “The use of Six Sigma in the field of Project Management” for the Santiago de Compostela’s University in Spain.
I would like to know if someone could send me some companies names that have used Six Sigma on their projects.
It is important that those companies work specifically with Project Management (Engineering Projects, Construction Projects or any other).
I need to contact them in order to get information about their outcomes, how they implemented Six Sigma, the problems that might have appeared in the process, etc.
Thank you.

However, I have done it already and I could not find any real work about how they used Six Sigma in a Project.
The only thing I could see was how to manage a “Six Sigma Project” which is slightly different from what I am looking for.
I searched on Google, Web of Science, Research Gate and others about this. I could not get anything conclusive to use in my final work.
I need a company who works on a project basis that have implemented Six Sigma on their Projects.
Thank you.

Joe WojniakParticipant@joewojniakInclude @joewojniak in your post and this person will
be notified via email.@johnny1287 – here are some well-known companies that have used Six Sigma for a multitude of projects. DMAIC projects tend to be “make the process better” type of project. DMADV projects tend to be “make the product design better”, you can also search for DFSS (Design For Six Sigma) projects. Here’s a list of prominent companies: Motorola, GE, Texas Instruments, Covidien/Medtronic, and Eastman Kodak. If you search for Six Sigma Consultants, they’ll generally have their “pedigree” stated in their bio or resume (if you did a LinkedIn search for Six Sigma practitioners.) You can also search for Lean Sigma or Lean Six Sigma. Here’s an article that mentions many large corporations and which methodology they are using: https://formaspace.com/articles/manufacturing/best-framework-model-for-company/

I think perhaps you’re talking about structured project management as in what the Project Management Institute (PMI.org) teaches and certifies? Is that correct?
If so, then you’ll want to contact them and search their website. I found this, which — with the limited information you shared with us — sounds like your area of research: https://www.pmi.org/learning/library/six-sigma-method-applications-pm-8515
Or, if you’re talking specifically about applying Six Sigma within construction projects, then try searching for that topic: “applying Six Sigma in construction”
http://www.ijirset.com/upload/2016/april/45_IMPLEMENTATION.pdf
http://www.ijirset.com/upload/2017/november/131_Application_ISS11.pdf
Or try “applying Six Sigma in engineering”.
Is that helpful to you?

This is exactly what I was looking for. I had searched on the PMI’s website before, but I did not find anything useful there.
I will keep looking for more information in order to get a wider view of how to implement Six Sigma on General Project Management.
Thank you.0 -
