be notified via email.*BB project will save $75.000 to $125.000
**GB project will save $50.000
***BB Project may use advanced statistics ,such as DEO & ANOVA,etc (plus the 7 quality tools & SPC)
****GB Project may use the problem-solving tools plus the basic statistical tools.
*****BB’s are responsible for the BB projects & GB’s are responsible for the GB’s projects

0September 6, 2007 at 4:45 am #160817I’ve seen BB projects worth 8 million that only use process observation and capability studies. I’ve seen GB projects worth over a million. What differentiates GB and BB is the training only.

When he/she called him/ herself Marlon Brando/ All Thingss Idiot, he/ she used to post his/ her homework on this site and ask the forum to do it for him/ her. Currently calls him/ herself Lila Stanley, when not impersonating other forum members. Posts from this person can often be recognised by the eccentric spelling, punctuation and syntax, and the breathtaking ignorance displayed in some of the ‘advice’ given by said person.

There are several interpretations of GB & BB, but it really is training and experience that is the real difference. Green belts will often have projects that require a black belt or master black belt supervision or champion. There really is no set monitary limit to projects for either GB or BB. However, I have worked in environments that require certain project milestones be reached both in project numbers and project dollars, before an invidual can be considered for black belt level training. Experience, in my opinion, is more important than the title. Knowing how to run a project and selecting the correct tools to find the solution, outways the actual title of the belt. My view of master black belt is a person that is somewhat like a department manager. This person has completed multiple projects, can lead projects to completion, can create financial budgets to pursue projects, and be a REAL leader to the black belts and green belts.

Chad Taylor0September 7, 2007 at 12:50 am #160850I have to disagree with a lot of folks….
I think a MBB is somebody who can walk in to a C-level (or VP, or GM) persons office, shut the door and have a talk about serious issues with some credability. A 27 year old engineer with a few years of work experience and then a few years as a Black Belt doesn’t cut it in my view.
For my organization, we have BB-Candidates, BB’s, Senior BB’s and BB Managers that take you up the Black Belt Chain.
Our Green Belts all take the class & must do a projecut under the supervision of a Black Belt (and then they do another project each year to maintain their belt).0September 7, 2007 at 11:34 am #160862
