I am curious. How do people manage to dig up extremely old discussion threads and respond to them as if that discussion is still going strong? I see lots of instances where 5 years ago someone responded to a request for some information and said, “I have a copy of… [insert some obscure reference material here] …I’ll send it to you.” and then that post is followed up for years by people saying, “I’d like a copy too, here is my email address.”
Do they think that it has now become someone’s full time job to monitor that thread and reply to endless requests for that tidbit of info that was offered 5 years ago? Do people not look at the date of the discussion thread and think, “Hmmm, I’ll bet the original poster has now changed jobs 47 times and is no longer looking at this discussion.” ??
I’m amused. However, I can always hold out hope that this very thread will re-emerge over the years and someone in the future will respond to it and ask for a copy of whatever will be offered by some subsequent poster in this thread.
It’s like Discussion Thread Archaeology! (Who were these Six Sigmians, and how did they live?)
… and yes, I am a little bit bored today.0December 19, 2007 at 5:56 pm #166340Outlier (if that’s your real name),
Please submit all non value add questions to me and I will post them. You are working my side of the street, buster.
Stevo0December 19, 2007 at 6:40 pm #166344Outlier,
When someone responds directly to one of my posts, I get an email notification. I just got one yesterday regarding an offer I made back in March.
And NO, I won’t send it to you too, because you have a bad attitude ;-)

BrandonParticipant@BrandonInclude @Brandon in your post and this person will
be notified via email.Oh O – you brought me another chuckle today…and I needed it.
I saw a post a few weeks ago that didn’t appear to be a new question nor related to any recent post..so I opened it. The poster was giving advice about whether a previous poster should take a particular job or not. The previous poster had last asked about taking the job about 3 yrs ago.
