hi,
we have deployed six sigma recently in our company and ofcourse we had consultants to help us out but now since their contract is over and they think we are reasonably empowered to carry out the rest, just the core team of 3 is left. The problem is my colleagues’s enthusiasm levels have gone down and its definitely not helping. any suggestions0February 20, 2007 at 2:19 pm #152212What specific behaviors and actions lead you to say or believe that about them? Have you engaged them (one on one, not as a group, yet!) in a meaningful conversation about why this may be happening?
0February 20, 2007 at 6:33 pm #152226SOunds like there is little visual commitment at the top. “We are reasonably empowered to carry out the rest…..” Doesn’t sound like marching orders from the top! You need to re-invigorate and get a clear purpose and strategic direction. If your colleagues know that the CEO wants it done – their enthusiasm will resurface. Shame on the consultants for leaving you with this still to be resolved.

Get them to 1-1 discusion, review your communication channels (eleminate barrier), seek and give constructive feedback, peer support and above all “recognistion and reward” catch them when they are doing something good as compared to catching them when they are doing wrong. Trust and support them.
Hope this helps!

“Think can or can’t, you’re absouletly right.” Henry Ford0February 20, 2007 at 8:22 pm #152233Promote them to Sr.Engineering or Lean Sigma. It sound like we have some potential for corporate management.
