    Hi, I am new to callcenter operations.
    I am revising our menu- occassionally we have to delay opening an hr or so due to severe weather. Currently in this situation our menu states “we are currently experiencing an unplanned event, please leave a message”.

    What do most companies do- I feel there should be a message that plays about the reason for delay as unplanned event is too generic.

    What are your thoughts?

    You need to understand the process flow and know who the customers are and find their needs.

    Do they really care the reason? Or do you really only need to tell them when you’ll be available.
