Dear All:  Do you I think I can start a new career as a Six Sigma consultant? Please free to dump on me and let’s see if we can make this the longest thread ever.  We could also see who comes up with the “best”, or shall we say “worst”, put down for my proposal. Everything will be tolerated. Sounds like it should be a lot of fun. With my warmest regards.

    Charmed,
You asked, “Do you think I can start a new career as a Six Sigma consultant?” Well, that depends. What is your background? What do you currently do that makes you want to start a “new career”?

Dear Jim:  OK, I will help you. I know nothing, but I am good. I know how to tell people what they should do and get them to do it, with charm. Can I start as a Charmpion may be? Any openings?  Feel free to contact me.  I will quit what I am doing and come on board.

This is a good start.  In Six Sigma speak, we call the charmpion part of the job a “change agent”.  I think I like charmpion better.

    Dear John J. McDonough:
Wow! This is a major break through already. So, Charmpion I shall be.  How many weeks of vacation do I get and what are the perks?  I don’t mind using my lap top and/or palm top even when I am on vacation (lounging on some beach) and can tell people what to do.  I usually perform better in those surroundings. In my office, I keep a punching bag and several pairs of gloves handy. With my charmiest regards.

If folks like Darth can do it and still have plantey of time to chat on line 24/7, then so can YOU! Go

Is ‘Charmed’ really just Laxman? Why did you change your name and why do you continue to post threads like this? Do you just like to read your own words?

If you cannot dertemine the market need to find the opportunities then Consulting might not be the right way to go ?.  If however you take the classical direction of Insulting , or act as an Industry Insultant (Consultant – re-spelled to reflect alot of consultants out there) and can tell the client what the time is on his watch – then keep his watch – then go right ahead have fun!

OK Charmed2 or CharmedX, or whatever you want to be:
Since you asked me a straight question, I will give you a straight answer. I am getting very tired all this prurient interest in whether I am Reigle Stewart, Laxman, Laxmanan, etc. I consider it to be an extremely hostile attitude towards me, or for that matter any poster. This is unbecoming of a professional forum such as this one.
I would urge you to take a look at the exchanges between Andy U, Stan, Sean which illustrates what I am talking about. By the way, I am not the least bit offended by your post but I did find the tone of the other posts rather hostile.
I have let this be known in my exchange with Andy U. Yet it seems to continue. Only after such posts started did I start making posts that you are now seem to find offensive. Please do take a look also at the posts by Phil. He too is trying to tell the forum something.
I sincerely hope you will take some time to review the threads that I initiated and the other threads that I am alluding to here where my identity has been questioned and what Phil and some other posters have tried to call attention to. Let’s focus on the message, instead of the messenger, or the origins of the messenger. With my warmest regards.
    P. S. Having fun is a legitimate part of Six Sigma and the kind of changes that an effort such as Six Sigma is meant to create in any large organization.  Fortune 500 companies (e. g. Ford in recen years) invest millions of dollars to train BB, MBBs, etc.  If you really want to make an impact and produce the cost savings to the organization, you cannot just keep talking about least squares, 2 sample t tests, Chi-squared, Anova, etc. all the time. More than two-thirds of those who call themselves Six Sigma practitioners still don’t understand the meaning of the 1.5 sigma shift and the justification for it that you see in another post today – to which I have responed, with humor.  I don’t believe, I tried to insult him/her.
May be now you understand why made this post. Always, Laugh with people, don’t laugh at them.  The first, I assure you, will make you live longer. The second will kill you, sooner rather than later.

Charmed, judging from the number of times you have posted recently on this thread, you obviously have plenty of free time.  This, together with your Insulting talents, makes you a good candidate for a career in management, or at least designing straight lines for parking lots.  Should make for some interesting Dilbert material!

    Laxman,
Thanks for confirming that it’s you, as I’m positive the writing style is not Reigle.
Why did you change your name to begin with? Because people didn’t think your posts were funny. Funny and having fun is great, but this string is just not funny. Period.
In addition, those who know nothing about six sigma will be very confused by your posts.
What I’m saying is that, in essence, I know of no one that is enjoying your posts. If someone enjoys these posts, please stand up and with Laxman to say that you enjoy these. Otherwise, please consider not posting “funny” stuff. Let’s have fun and make jokes when we’re discussing real topics that benefit others.
    How does that sound?

Dear Charmed2: You are evading the question I asked you and again going back to who I am. That’s a moot point.  It is the offensive nature of some of the posts that I am talking about and others are talking about. You don’t seem to have a problem.  When you speak up the next we see another offensive post, I will know.

    Charmed,
I regret inform you that unless you learned SixSigma from Motorola in the beginning, all your training is useless and wrong and you will never be valuable to any to any organization.

    Dear Charmed,
Are you Reigle Stewart? No, you are not. Your writting style and contributions to this forum are clearly not Reigle’s style. And you already said in some of your previous posts (in other threads) that you are not Reigle.
Are you Laxman, or V. Laxmanan? Well, I don’t know. Your style closely matchs Laxman’s. But this is not a proof. Whily you said you were not Reigle, I haven’t seen you saying you are not Laxman (soory if I missed a thread where you said it). Of course that not saying you are not Laxman does not make you Laxman.
So, a stright question: Are you and Laxman the same person?
If you say you are not the same, I will belive you because I know Laxman and I know he would not lie. He can be “evasive” to avoid answering the question, but he will not lie.

Dear Charmed, reading your posts, I believe you cannot be a six sigma consultant, at moment, even you could score maximum to MBB examination, for some reasons.
Two main are : consultant must be polite, you aren’t ;  six sigma program could be monotonous for you …..
Of course you can be absolutely different by your posts, but they are only info about you, so……

    Laxman,
I want to be clear that my exchange with Andy and Stan re: your identity was not at all hostile.  It was a simple statement to point out who you are and that you are not who they thought you were (ie Riegle).  People like to put “faces to names” so that they can identify with those people or at least to put some context to the conversation.
It is difficult to do so for contributors that change their names frequently.  This habit also begs the questions “why?” and “what are you hiding from?”
It is true that I have been slightly hostile towards you in the past, but I will point out that my hostility was directed solely at your idea that a work function is going to revolutionize the world and six sigma in particular.  I think this is a silly notion and you have never been able to show that it is anything more than a simple linear regression, with which (I believe) most people on this forum are already familiar.
I had decided to largely ignore you and your postings (which I do for most contributors that I find to be irrelevant), but then you changed your name again.  It has taken me few days to firm up who you are, but now that have I can happily move on with life without having to pay any more attention to you…
Good luck with your personal vendetta against the regulars here.  I’m sure someone will find it amusing.
    SP
