Glad u fessed up because I put out a BOLO for you.  The intent is to use the graphical tools you were taught…histograms, boxplots, dotplots, descriptive statistics, etc.  Now you know the power of the Darkside.

    Darth,
I tip my hat, Sir.  I’ve been told in the past, “you need to come over to the dark side.”  Now I see why.
I need to keep an eye on you and learn from a Master…

Darth – whom do you work for that gives you the opportunity to troll this website all day every day and chime in with your wisdom on anything and everything?  Go get your company some productivity savings by working more and chatting less.

And thank you for taking the time to point it out and read allll the posts. Apparently you also have the time.  As far as justifying myself to you…..frankly, it’s none of your damn business.  But thank you for the input.

Speaking of the dark side, this guy/gal who chooses to hide behind his unrecognized Name(by Where Does Darth Get the Time? )where he/she can feel free to spout out unhelpful post that get me no closer to solving the purpose of my original question, what is your game SIR?  Did you ever consider that Darth may have created an opportunity in his success that allows him to pop in when he wants.  I know personally, he is at the top of the org chart in his company and his SR. status in the company allows the flexibility you seem to also enjoy.
It is also, the worldwide forum and diverse questions and situation on these posts that attracted me to even log on and ask my dumb ass question to begin with.  Thanks to all that did respond!

Apparently I am home from my job ill today and am trying to kill time.  One can’t but help notice your shameless self promotion and pullution.  You seem to know the answer to everything.  If I submitted a posting that the world was flat, I am sure I could expect a response from you in less than 10 minutes littered with references to Harry, Demming, Womack, etc and anyone other name you can drop to impress your cyber pals.

I will write off your idiotic statements as being a result of your fever and illness.  I hope you don’t have me confused with someone else.  Please point out when I have posted “self promotion and pullution” (apparently your illness has also affected your ability to spell).  I have never defended Harry..Deming is spelled with one “m”… and can’t see how you came to the conclusion that I am dropping names to impress people.  I don’t know anybody important except Stan and your rants seem to be more properly directed towards Reigle…sorry Big R.  My posts are direct and seek to answer specific questions.  Hopefully others on the Forum have found some value in my attempt to help.  You on the other hand, you may need to up the dosage on your meds and get over whatever your issue is.  Hope you feel better.

Ur my idol, being retired and all with a big mansion on the ocean in Fla.  What is up with that nut?  Has he mistaken me for you or Reigle?  Guess if you hang it out in public you are liable to run across one of those once in a while.  Got through 50 pages of the book this afternoon before my nose hit the keyboard.  There is so much hedging about the 1.5 that I am starting to wonder what the big deal is.  Nowhere has it been stated that it is a universal truth.  Given that much tap dancing, why are we all making such a big deal about it?

You go Feverguy!!  Way to tell him off!!!

As an fyi – you can initially write your posting in Microsoft Word, use spell check, and then copy and paste it into your isixsigma.com posting field.   A thesaurus is also available.  Unless, of course, your goal was to appear feverish and raving, and, if so, you did well.   In fact, I’ll bet that rascal Darth won’t be posting anymore wiseacre comments – just those boring technical Six Sigma insights that he seems to continuously offer up with little provocation.   What a pain!!
Yep, we’ll just see if there are anymore wiseacre comments out of him!!!  I’ll bet you put a stop to it once and for all.

I have to tend to agree with the anti-Darth posts.  Besides, it is obvious Darth takes the bait every time.  Correcting spelling really got me a chuckle.  But, the poster does have a point – Darth does seem to have a lot of time on his hands for someone that claims to work for Bank of America.  I thought he would be busier.  (I know I am.)  Hope I did not spell anything wrong.  :)
Darth – you guy’s hiring?  I could use a break from real work.

Well, now… wait just a minute.  I thought that what he said and how he said it was germane and integral to the posting’s thread.  I was actually beginning to think of him as a Six Sigma tool.    Credit where credit’s due.

    Kenyon,
Isn’t rising to the bait half the fun?  But I am curious as to the reasons for this so called anti-Darth lobby.  If my posts are incorrect, insulting, self promoting or engaging in any anti-Forum behavior, then attack on the merits of what I say.  Why are you and our anonymous poster so worried about my time and making that the basis of your issue?  Check my previous posts.  For the most part, have they not been helpful to the original posters or correct in the response?  If not, take issue with that.  But, if I choose or make the time to respond timely and correctly to posters, what’s your issue?  Just trying to understand, that’s all.  As for the spelling thing, I have stated before it is a personal phobia but I hope you agree that, while not critical, a person who has enough professional pride to try and write and spell correctly should not be condemned.  I believe this applies to all Posters who, I guess out of some frustration, stop attacking the content and issues and start attacking the person.  Kenyon, I don’t know how you feel, but I believe this Forum is for the exchange and debate of content issues and if it deteriorates to the personal level, something has gone wrong.

Darth, just remember, no one ever erected a monument to a critic. If that doesn’t help there is always the solace of to pseudo latin phrase – Illigitimi non Carborundum.
In the past, whenever, one of these run-down-a-poster sessions started I always used to do a search on the critic’s name to see what, if anything, they had contributed.  The usual answer was – nothing. My guess is that the same holds true for the current spate of carping.
For many reasons, in addition to the above, I do wish iSixSigma would put the search-by-author feature back on the site.  Keep up the good work Darth.

You know, when I first found this site I thought what a great resource for a new person to learn from others about Six Sigma.  I guess I was only partially correct.  While there is a good group on here trying to offer help and yes opinions, there are also those that have not yet overcome childish insecurities about their own ineptness.  They seem to need a pump or a blow to prop up their ego since the satisfaction in their own education and accomplishments simply don’t support them.  So they gorge themselves on the feast of those that they devour through the process of tearing down others.  I agree with Darth, if you want to debate the issues on the merit of the data then fine.  If you want to move forward with destructive unfounded personal attacks not based on the data, I suggest that you both don’t know much about Six Sigma…

He’s right; I wanted to apologize to everyone out there.  This forum is supposed to be about the SS and the Data.  I got in over my head and one day long ago Darth had corrected one of my mis-conceptions.  I have had an ax to grind ever since and used this as an opportunity to do that.  I do apologize…   I think the anonymous sick guy and the other newbe, probably had been wrong in the past and can’t take the constructive debate.  I hope you and other newcomers continue to come back to this forum and use this sight as it was intended.

Good suggestions, all around. And there are some more that haven’t been mentioned yet.
Just a thought: Try them all! See what you can learn!! Wasn’t that the purpose of the assignment to start with?  Treat it like a puzzle or a mystery to be solved. Try and have fun with it.
Well, it may not be as fun or entertaining as watching how some folks push buttons just to how other will folks respond…. but I guess we all need a diversion from the facts, numbers and methods from time to time….

Don’t you know by now where Darth works? Where have you been? He has many times advertised on this website where he works. But no reason to worry about his company’s productivity, he is one of those folks that in movie industry are referred to as “extras”!

Whew, a bunch of sick’os on this thread and your complaining about me…to the point of using someone else’s posting name, come on.  At least have the guts to use your “real” name.  At least I “waste” my time trying to help others.  Grow up and start posting something of value to the profession and answer some tough questions rather than waste everybody’s time with your nonsense.  Stan, at least I have taken some of  the heat off of you for a while….hope u appreciate it.  I’m outta this one.

    FF,
I am curious on how you would use a Chi Square test for a problem like this.  It seems that he is focusing on continuous data and I have always seen the Chi used with discrete data.  Are you recommending a change of the data before such a test?
It is an fascinating choice of test for this type of data and I am interested in finding out how it would work in this scenario.

    Kenyon,
Why condemn someone who provides advice and assistance on this discussion forum. It’s not a very helpful behavior to attack others and it’s really not nice either. Just because this forum allows for anonymous posting doesn’t mean that people should disregard their morals and good behaviors. If we don’t have our integrity (even anonymously), then what do we have? I for one appreciate when others post helpful remarks because I don’t know everything and have plenty to learn from others.

This is how I would organize data to compare processing time between regions (ri) and center types (cj)
    For example: i=3, j=4

    r1
    r2
    r3

    c1
    12
    8
    15

    c2
    7
    8
    13

    c3
    13
    12
    15

    c4
    7
    8
    6
    p=0.848

Have the gut’s to use your “real” name.  Nice,  I hope your last name is Vader.  Answer some tough questions?  How hard is it to answer a statistical question when you can open a text book and look up the answer?

    Regards,
    Eduardo….ahhhhh I mean Luke Skywalker.
