I  have a specific query. Is there any authorized body/forum/forum who actually judge whether a person’s credential is worth Six Sigma Certification? I mean to say for example for Project Management Professionals; PMI is the authorized body to give such certifications. Are there any authorized body who are exclusively authorized to give Six Sigma certifications? Can we join any certification course for Six Sigma Green belt from some local institute providing Six Sigma Training? Will this certification make us certified GB?

While there are several organizations claiming to be able to certify, the only offical certification recognized worldwide is Stan and Darth’s Gold Standard EZ Lean, Six Sigma, Reengineering and related certifications. Our motto – “You can get better, but you cannot pay more”.

    Raman,
As Stan’s reply suggests, there is no ‘world leader’ for certification, using world class consultancies that are reputable is usually seen as the best way – or being certified by a multinational with good reputation (GE/Motorola/Allied etc) often helps.
Stan has added another dimension to ‘normal’ 6s training, his phases are D.M.A.I.C.S, Sarcasm is the new phase, its worth paying for it as you actually get a tomato (for your nose) a pair of oversized trousers (with braces) and a huge pair of shoes, oh, and a cream pie – all for $199 extra.

    Jaybee,
You almost got it right. You get sarcasm in every phase any time you ask obvious or stupid questions. In Raman’s case, he may have noticed all those annoying blinking notices all over this web site.
By the way there are no world class consultancies on this page. There are however, world class marketing organizations.

Stan, I remember a really long thread where belt colors were discussed.  I recommend that our company dispense with belt designations and substitute with a series of colored thongs each getting skimpier as new knowledge is acquired.

Here is the latest Six Sigma White Belt receiving his official White Thong after passing all the certification requirements of my grandson Stan’s consulting company.  Congratulations Noah.

    Darth,
lol, “i am the expert MBB from my company, what do you careabout with our product X?” (reply) “i respect that you are an expert, but would you mind not wearing a fig leaf to the meeting please”
“ok, i will send along the newest recruit” in walks a guy with an astronaut suit on (or similar full body regalia) “hello, i am the new recruit – a white belt if you will, erm, what is six sigma?”
    ho ho

As long as AutoCad 3-D laser modeling, wind tunnel testing, intricate fiberglass surface texturing reminiscent of tie-dyed Oakland A’s sporting equipment updated to various soothing pastels are included most of the diverse collection of SF Bay area Six Sigma practitioners and novices that I know will be onboard.   I know my Berkeley buddies will march in favor or in protest with equal verve and fervor.

Can’t say for sure about the Midwesterners or East Coast folks though.

Vinny, looks like somebody has been a bad boy and the thread has been considerably shortened.

    Granny,

    You’re right.

You must have said something offensive.    My rainbow and fringe comments were nothing but kind, agreeable and inclusive.   I hope you’ve learned a valuable lesson.
