I have a lognormal distribution for the duration of a task in minutes.
Location = 0
Scale = 0.9643
Threshold = 0If I want to budget an “average” time to the task such that the total time alloted budget will be met in the long run . . . how do I do this?
I know my current mean is 63.6 minutes, but do not know the confidence of this…[Read more]

Can anyone please clarify binomial analysis output data? If one sample size has a confidence of 0.9 and significance 0.91 for a hypothesized p (% defective) then MTab “Power & Sample Size for 1 Proportion” tool provides 2 output as below (alt. hypothesis = greater than):
Testing p Comparison p Size Power Actual Power

After completion of a GRR, how exactly do I apply the data reported by MiniTab to come up with a +/ error for any measurement I may take?
What about a specific part? What if I want to have a 99% confidence in my […] 6 years, 10 months ago
Thanks for the reading reference Stan; maybe my question was “too large.”
My initial research has so far clarified operating characteristic curve characteristics; false and true, positive and negative hypotheses quantification. Practical selection of cutoff point is my next goal of understanding. Sensitivity and Specificity intuitively seem…[Read more]

I would think you should prove that each head as an observer is equivalent. Each head has a transducer (maybe the same load cell model?) and therefore it may make a difference which head recieves which weight. Also, I think you should prove the “processing” which amounts to summation is valid. Get the system operating range, the head operating…[Read more]

Your eloquent summary concurs with my suspicions and it is reassuring to have this forum to get such input. To quote one of my new collegues; “it is what it is.”
My best effort to make some sense of the data so far has produced some cumulative defect (ratios) history, which when graphed with reject events, at least depicts on one page a…[Read more]

Bake time varies and one observer measures it. There may be error in the observation (simple brief written review of the situation would help), or there logically is not for some reason. In baking pizza the oven is on constantly; the timer does not cut the heat source off (?). But the person who removes the pizza may have delays being…[Read more]
