Marz replied to the topic Overall Cpk with multiple products?? in the forum General 11 years, 2 months ago
Thank you everyone for the responses. Trust me, when I come on to a message board and ask questions I am not trying to appear as “childish”. I obviously do not know the answer to my question and am deferring to you, the experts, for advice/guidance. I have no problem with Stan, I only argued that he wasn’t even attempting to answer my qu…[Read more]

Stan,
As much as appreciate the insight, you are not helping at all. What is the point of coming on to a discussion board and being rude/not helping people and just posting dumb responses. Why do you care why I need this information? For my business and my products it is necessary. Period. If you don’t have anything helpful to say, say noth…[Read more] -

Thank you for the insight. I am familiar with how Cp and Cpks are calculated. I have seen elsewhere where they say to just use the lowest Cpk of the products since that is indicative of the overall process regardless of whether or not other products have a higher Cpk. I will continue to do some digging on this but thank you.

Ok not the constructive answer I was looking for but if I have to validate dumb responses I will.
Basically, if each week you would have product A’s Cpk, product B’s Cpk, and product C’s cpk all for the same quality aspect and all products are produced on identical production lines and measured in the same lab, I would want to simplify this and…[Read more] -

I’m just getting my feet wet with six sigma so forgive me if this is a simple question.
I work in industry that is a semi-batch process. We produce multiple products on multiple lines. Currently we measure Cps and Cpks for various quality aspects of each of our products (all products have the same quality aspects but obviously different upper a…[Read more] -

Thanks Scott.
Yes, you are correct in your interpretation of the way I am calculating the weekly data.
I will send you the weekly data for as many weeks possible.
Yes, I can even get the daily data but then the number of evaluations per day would be very less. Also in this case I want to work only on weekly data as I have to compare it with…[Read more] -

So it means I cannot use the tools for Continuous data analysis.
Now if similarly I have the CSAT data, it will also be discrete. Right?
So, now if I have to do some relationship analysis, can I not do correlation analysis? What regression analysis tool do I need to use in this case?
Thanks. -
Marz replied to the topic Discrete or Continuous in the forum General 13 years, 5 months ago
Well the weekly data could be like Week1 = 85.65, Week2 = 74.28 and so on so forth. So it means that it can take any vaule within a range. This data cannot be ideally broken into finer logical increments.
So cannot be taken as continuous, it is what you are saying?
Thanks. -

You brought up one very good point in your initial post, nested Gage R+R’s assume the samples are identical. Any part to part variation will show up as gage variation in your test. If you have good confidence that your part variaiton is low, you might be able to overlook this requirement.
If you are trying to determine the repeatability of your…[Read more] -

If you have Minitab, you should try
Stat > DOE > Analyze Variability
which is designed to analyze variation of a response from repeated measurements. It has a tendancy to need large repeated data sets. DOE > Analyze Variability
