Well, Let me identify myself first. I am a business student at a state run school. Yes, After that first sentance you should know that i am in serious need of some help.I am doing a 200 page industry analysis, environmental scan, and firm analysis for Intel. My professor is requiring this packet to be of six-sigma quality so here is my question. How do I achieve six-sigma quality on a presentation packet?I appologize if my question is not clear, but I’m out on a limb here.Thanks.

In order for your presentation to be Six Sigma quality you need to define your opportunities for defect. What does your customer tell you is important to include in the presentation.

Think that perhaps all he is referring to is that your report be fact-based, data-driven and error free. That is my definition of 6 Sigam quality.0December 27, 2004 at 1:31 pm #58284Wanted to known about six-sigma and how it will help organization.

be notified via email.SS quality is defined as 3.4 defects per million opportunities. That means you only get 3.4 typos per million words, for example. Since you already have 3 grammatical/spelling errors in the first two sentences of your post, I would say you are in a world of trouble to start with.
0December 31, 2004 at 7:49 am #58287Nonsense. First you u look at your sentence where the acronym’s are included then give suggestion.. as you are aware six sigma is purely based on data and facts. Which are right in front of you now…
Never give stupid suggestions and correlations.

be notified via email.Thank you for your nonsensical response. I have no idea what your point was. And where have you been deploying Six Sigma (capitalized and often referred to as SS for those who are experienced practioners)? To claim Six Sigma (SS) is “purely based on data and facts” is incorrect. If it were so, we would only need Minitab and not Master Black Belts (MBBs), Black Belts (BBs), Green Belts (GBs) and Champions (Champions). There is a good deal of political, behavioral and leadership issues which extend far beyond the data and facts. By the way, the use of (‘s) is for the possessive and not for the plural. A person’s writing is often indicative of their professionalism and pride and both you and the original poster appear to be lacking in both.
0December 31, 2004 at 11:49 pm #58293First, I realize that I’m responding to an old posting but Darth told the Main forum channel that you Finance Channel guys are slow in posting and responding, plus the essence of the question can live past your paper due date. Out of curiosity, are you referring to the University of Iowa? But, nevertheless, with the number of pages and opportunities for error whether they be errors in logic, grammar, spelling, syntax, data interpretation, etc., etc., in your planned report your professor is telling you that he expects an error free paper. You need to target error free analysis and reporting. He is really just telling you the paper is very important do it right. Besides, you were actually referring to your second sentence, not your first sentence when you gave early indication of needing help as indicated by your first sentence. If your posting is any indication of your academic endeavors with the number of painful errors presented in two noncomplex short paragraphs Id extrapolate that to around a 1.5 sigma paper on a 200 page technically based financial report (which would not yield a very good grade even for a state supported school). You have much work to do grasshopper and this forum is not the place you need to be spending your time.

You seem to know what you are talking about. I am green to Six Sigma. I am currently working on a group project for a class and I chose Six Sigma as my area of interest. Our group decided to compare and contrast Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and SCOR as three Quality Methodologies and we intend to give a fun presentation based on these topics.
I thought it it’s better to talk about each topic, then identify the strength and weakness of each methodology. Then, we will cite companies that used each methodology followed by what we think is the best quality methodology overall.
I will appreciate the help.
P.S. Feel free to analyze what kind of personality is behind my writing.0 -
