@HV1234 I am not sure I understand this completely but let me see if I can help. It has been a very long time since I have used GD&T. When you say that >/= 1.0 is good and 0.5-1.0 is also then in terms of a Cpk they are both within specification. That is about the extent of what you get from Cpk. It really doesn’t explain degrees of goodness. It…[Read more]
@amrlord I am not sure what the point was to the long diatribe but since nobody else wants to answer you I will take a shot at it. Participation in Continuous improvement is not gender, religion, nationality, race, etc. sensitive. The younger generation issue doesn’t change first principles, mechanical engineering, etc. There are courses out there…[Read more]
@AlonzoMosley You asked for peoples input. I gave you my input. I have no obligation to agree with you as you don’t have any obligation to agree with me. Do whatever you want.
It always sounds good “I am working on employee communication.” If you ask and don’t do anything with the input you just did a huge amount of damage to any future…[Read more]
@AlonzoMosley Wecome to the trap “just ask the people on the line.” As you have already found out 1. just because it comes from someone on the line doesn’t mean it is a good idea 2. if you cannot handle the load don’t ask because asking and not doing anything makes it look like you don’t care and that is actually worse than just plain not…[Read more]
@Mario-Perez-Wilson We are doing well thank you. spending time with the grandchildren and I have been doing work in Asia. We have a son going in the Army and will get trained in Arizona. I promise we will make a trip to Phoenix and get back together again.
@Mario-Perez-Wilson Good morning Mario. Been a very long time my friend. Hope you are doing well.
I have no clue but I will see what I can conjure up. I think after the go round with the guy with the Montgomery thing you may have hit this site when people were less inclined to participate in this but we will see.
NOTE; For those people reading…[Read more]
It is hard to believe you are getting soft. You would have been the last one I would have ever thought would do that. It doesn’t look like this person is really anyone to concern yourself with.
Happy New…[Read more]
I have watched over the years as people claim to be purists and all other kinds of nonsense. The first time I ran into it was a automotive OEM explained to me they where a Taguchi company. Had no idea what that meant until I figured out they only listened to Taguchi design experiments.
Over the years we have has the TQM’ers who have always…[Read more]
@stephanieareid I have not been on this site in a while and just rolled through a couple questions earlier today. I saw your response to MBBinWI. I am not sure how you got to the point that you felt in your obviously narrow view of the world that you could make such an arrogant and condescending remark to MBBinWI. First he has spent a lot of time…[Read more]
@Mrs.Pagan my advice is probably a bit different. I wouldn’t do anything at all for a couple weeks beyond watching and talking to people in casual one on one conversation. Maybe 2 on 1. The last thing you nesd to do is roll in like a new guru there to save them using a bunch of buzz/Japanese words and throwing around tools that nobody gets but…[Read more]

@datasciencedweeb If you are using a software package check it to see if you can list 100% as a boundary.
@cseider We at least know they did better than the Texas Rangers. That is the interesting thing they play for months to come down to 2 teams that has one winner on a best of 7 games. Whatever happened to participation trophies?
Mike Carnell replied to the topic What Are Average Black Belt Certification Rates? What to Do to Improve Them? in the forum Training 5 months, 2 weeks ago
@arivera1 so without anyone answering the certification rates and without stratifying the various certifications by requirements you want to improve them? Are you wanting to improve the rate or the quality of the certification?
Mike Carnell replied to the topic Looking for Help with LSS Training in Insurance Industry in the forum Training 5 months, 2 weeks ago
@shanedixon What part of the insurance business do you believe is any different that what you have been doing? Pick a software company that has a stats package. Call them and ask for the package that has the tools for insurance companies. Doesn’t exist because we all pretty much run stats around some observed vales and some expected…[Read more]
@snooks98 You need to remember you have accuracy and precision. When you are doing precision I would not worry about agreeing with the clients colors i.e golden samples. You want to be the same type of paint particularly if you have a metallic finish. You will get variation that is not a gage issue from different locations on the sample. I would…[Read more]

@anthony2019 Why would you limit the topic to an SME? There is nothing about SS that makes it unsustainable at an SME or any other place. Sustainability is a function of your organization. That has been documented all over the internet in terms of change management. Actually sustainability is an issue for any initiative to include Lean and SAP.
