Launch of iSixSigma Conferences and iSixSigma Magazine

Personal Letter from iSixSigma Founder to Readers

September 1, 2004

Dear iSixSigma.com Reader,

From its inception, iSixSigma has been committed to increasing the skill and knowledge base of the Six Sigma community. Today I am pleased and excited to announce the expansion of that commitment from our existing multiple online media into two new offline areas:

  • iSixSigma Conferences, beginning immediately
  • iSixSigma Magazine, first mailing in January 2005

First, iSixSigma has joined forces with the respected United Kingdom-based company IXPERION Ltd. to start offering Six Sigma conferences with a whole new level in quality and value. iSixSigma will be involved in the design and production of an exceptional schedule of conferences which avoid the shortcomings apparent in so many existing conferences for Six Sigma professionals. Second, in January of 2005, we will launch the premiere issue of iSixSigma Magazine. This periodical will feature the kind of insightful and pertinent information readers have come to expect from iSixSigma, plus special articles and more features. Again, we see the magazine as a way to further our mission of helping enrich the Six Sigma community.

I hope after reading this letter you are as excited as I am about the growth of iSixSigma and the opportunities it represents to you as a member of the Six Sigma community. Our expansion means increased access to information and resources in the manner you most readily learn (online, print or in-person) whether you are a manager or quality professional, or both. Let me give you a closer look at iSixSigma’s expansion plans.

iSixSigma Conferences by and for Six Sigma Professionals

In the current Six Sigma conference environment, you have many choices…if you want to attend an event whose agenda is designed by a conference organizer with no direct Six Sigma experience. Because they lack Six Sigma expertise, the existing field of conference companies can offer only “boilerplate” events. They do not understand the different needs of beginner, intermediate and advanced Six Sigma practitioners. Therefore, they are unable to assemble a holistic program to meet the CTQs of all their participants. The result is a disjointed conference agenda with incomplete or overlapping topics and content coverage.

Conferences produced by iSixSigma and IXPERION Ltd. (http://www.ixperion.com) will offer content which is researched, designed and customized by Six Sigma professionals for Six Sigma professionals. They will be branded “iSixSigma Conferences” and I will be personally involved with the program of each conference. Along with the leadership of Dr. Uwe Brunssen, founder of IXPERION and the most experienced Six Sigma conference producer in the world, iSixSigma Conferences will be events at which participants gather dozens of best practices and lessons learned, not just one or two. And the information provided will be usable immediately in your organization. This venture will set new standards for Six Sigma conferences.

iSixSigma Magazine Will Launch in January

For the last four years, iSixSigma has provided the most comprehensive and essential resources for Six Sigma available anywhere, strengthened the Six Sigma community by promoting discussion and information sharing, and encouraged professional growth through the iSixSigma Job Shop. Now, we are taking our passion for Six Sigma into print.

In January 2005, iSixSigma will launch iSixSigma Magazine (consider subscribing at this location: /magazine/), a bi-monthly publication devoted to improving the quality of business. Following iSixSigma.com’s standard of being the most widely read and respected online portal, iSixSigma Magazine will be the business journal of choice for today’s Six Sigma leaders and decision-makers. In each issue, iSixSigma will provide subscribers with cutting-edge Six Sigma strategies, management techniques, successful project case studies and storyboards, exclusive industry benchmarking research and actionable tools all designed to help readers achieve Six Sigma. Many of the features included in the magazine will not be available anywhere else.

I hope that you will consider subscribing to iSixSigma Magazine and attending an upcoming conference. We’ll have deployment leaders, C-level executives, Master Black Belts, Black Belts, and every other color Belt sharing in print and in-person. It’s going to be an exciting time and I hope to personally meet you, share Six Sigma experiences, and continue growing and learning professionally with you. I also welcome email from each of you if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.

Sincerely,
Mike
